Our problem: Getting the mendocino to stop "bouncing" when it is on the magnets and mirror.
Nick
To get the mendocino motor to stop "bouncing" when it is on the complete set up you have to make sure that the dowel is perfectly level with the base of the setup. This insures that the rotor will not bounce. Also you need to make sure that the rotor is perpendicular from the mirror or else it will wobble back and forth on the horizontal axis and bounce. Once you have the dowel perfectly level and perpendicular, the mendocino motor should keep reletively straight and not bounce. You will find that it has to be pretty acurately perpendicular from the mirror or else it will not stay on the magnets. You have to move your front magnets together to prevent your nose from dipping. Also you have to make sure that your magnets are securley in place and won't move or wiggle off the dowel. Once your dowel is horizontally parrellel with the base and perpendicular with the mirror and your problem will be fixed if you followed the instructions.

if your looking to poly your mendo base you first shape it with the rough grit sand paper
then move to the medium grit sandpaper and finally end with the fine grit sandpaper.after smoothing it out completely
you will want to rub off any dust particles using a felt piece of cloth. after this you will need to put several coats of
poly on it using a very small brush. you do not want to shake up the poly for that will cause bubbles to form instead stir it gently with
the brush. allow to dry overnight before you reapply each coat.
